🌱 Microbes are not all pathogenic. They also aid us in nervous system/hormonal regulation, digestion, immune function, metabolism, sleep, and overall health.
A microbiome is a vast community of microorganisms—bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other microbes—that live in and on a host organism, such as a human, animal, soil, or plant.
Understanding of microorganisms’ relationship to human bodies and vice versa is vital for health. At least 50% of human bodies is made up of helpful microbes (ex. skin and gut).
VISUALIZATION
1. Find a Sanctuary:
Choose a comfortable place where you can sit or lie down without distraction.
2. Begin With Natural Breathing:
Take a few deep, slow breaths. Focus on the sensation of air moving in and out of your nostrils.
3. Visualize the Unseen:
Without panic, imagine that every breath you take is filled with countless tiny lives—invisible microbes that are part of the fabric of the world.
Picture them as the little immune helpers that they are, existing in harmony with your body and environment, contributing to a vast, interconnected ecosystem.
4. Reflect on Interconnectedness:
After several minutes (5–10 minutes), take a moment to reflect on the experience.
🔍 How did it feel to connect your breathing with the idea of living microbes? Did it frighten you to think about it? How does it feel to sit with the awareness of being part of a larger, living network? Does your perception widen?
